This 4 hour training course covers Alcohol Identification and Brief Advice. For Oxfordshire workers only.

*This training is only available to workers within Oxfordshire*This training will be jointly delivered by Dr James Morris from DrinkCoach. The session will cover Alcohol Awareness and Alcohol Identification and Brief Advice. Please note we will be unable to cover any advanced alcohol training content.What is Alcohol IBAIBA is a simple but effective ‘brief intervention’ for people whose alcohol use may be harmful to their health without them often realising.Who is the training for?<ul><li>The training is suitable for health professionals or any front line roles working in Oxfordshire. </li><li>The training is particularly suited to:</li></ul>GPs, practice nurses, HCAs, midwives, sexual health staff, health visitors, school nurses, A&amp;E staff, youth workers, community safety roles and many more.Course outcomes By completing an IBA training course, participants will have developed an understanding of: <ul><li>Alcohol use and harms</li><li>Understanding your role in IBA </li><li>Delivery of IBA to reduce risky or harmful alcohol use</li><li>Knowing how and when to refer someone to services</li><li>Key engagement and motivational skills</li></ul>The session is interactive and all delegates will be required to keep their video on throughout the training. Please ensure you have working equipment and access to Zoom prior to the training date.
