National Apprenticeship Week 2023 (6 – 12 February) aims to shine a light on the amazing work being done by employers and apprentices across the country, whilst showcasing and encouraging everyone to consider how apprenticeships can help both with new talent and to upskill the existing workforce to develop #skillsforlife. To join in on the national and cross-sectoral celebrations, the double award-winning <a href="https://advancedtherapiesapprenticeships.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Advanced Therapies Apprenticeship Community (ATAC)</a> is hosting three regional events for potential and existing ATAC employers, and its current apprentices.This is the South East of England event and will be held at:o	Sycamore House, Stevenage – Thursday 9th February - 11am-2pmSpaces at this event are limited, so please register soon to secure your place. You will receive a separate calendar invitation and further details closer to the event.Programme<ul><li>Arrival and networking</li><li>Welcome by Host</li><li>Cell &amp; Gene Therapy Catapult Skills Strategy update</li><li>Apprenticeship standards for both new talent and upskilling the existing workforce</li><li>Apprentice panel </li><li>Employer and apprentice awards ceremony </li><li>Networking lunch</li><li>Facility/Skills and Training Laboratories/Virtual Reality Tours</li></ul>BackgroundIn 2018, following interim funding from the Gatsby Foundation, the <a href="https://advancedtherapiesapprenticeships.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Advanced Therapies Apprenticeship Community (ATAC)</a> was established via the <a href="https://ct.catapult.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult,</a> funded by Innovate UK, to develop the first apprenticeship programme designed specifically to train and upskill individuals to develop, manufacture and deliver innovative advanced therapies at scale. The community has since flourished, with almost 300 apprentices from over 50 companies on programme, and demand continually rising.In 2022, ATAC received the prestigious BioIndustry Association Richard Wilson Impact Award, which is nominated and voted for by the bioprocessing community, as well as the much esteemed <a href="https://advancedtherapiesapprenticeships.co.uk/latest-news/prta/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Princess Royal Training Award </a>for tackling skills shortages in the sector.The success of the ATAC programme is a credit to the original funders Gatsby, current funders Innovate UK, employers, stakeholders and of course the apprentices!
