How can we  use theatre to effectively respond to the climate crisis, using it as a tool for change?

The first of a two-part series of workshops about how we can use theatre to effectively
respond to the climate crisis, using it as a tool for expression, reflection or positive change.
You can attend both or just one of the workshops.
This workshop will explore the different ways you can make work about the climate crisis;
the benefits, impacts and ethics behind different approaches. We will reflect on how it has
been done in the past and refer to inspiration from other artforms. You will then have the
opportunity to experiment with your ideas and writing to form your own creative response to
the climate crisis.
Selwin is a director, dramaturg and theatremaker. He is Co-Artistic Director of the new
writing company White Noise Theatre where he creates new work with actor-writers. His
work has been performed at the Warwick Arts Centre, ShopFront Theatre, Barbican Theatre
Plymouth, Curve Leicester, Lion &amp; Unicorn Theatre and Omnibus Theatre.
He is also a climate activist and works part-time for the Green Party. His climate crisis play
“Potatoes” was selected for the National Student Drama Festival in 2020.
