This talk will cover both history and geography as David started in Xian in China heading for Istanbul following the route of the Silk Road,

The Great Silk Road TodayA presentation by David Smith LRPS CPAGB. BPE1* David writes: &quot;Starting in Xian, the first capital of China, we follow the Great Silk Road to Istanbul, formerly Constantinople, where merchants travelled to obtain silk from China. Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Geogia and Armenia are visited en route as we see how silk, religion, food (including rhubarb) and knowledge travelled to and from China to the West from ancient times until the mid-15th century.David travelled from Zian in China heading towards Istanbul and following the route of the Great Silk Road, stopping in Turkmenistan and Uzbeckistan en route&quot;Members do not need to Register.. Non-members must sign-up and pay here in order to receive the link. The guest fee for this meeting is £3.00
