Edinburgh Doors Open Day 2026: ICE Scotland Museum
Visit this unique museum to be given a conducted tour to see a fascinating collection of historical artefacts relating civil engineering.
The museum will be hosting four guided tours on Sunday 27 September 2026 each limited to twelve visitors. Each tour will last approximately 40 minutes and there will be an opportunity afterwards to meet and question the curators and be shown a number of items that are not normally on display. Tours begin at 12.00, 13.00, 14.00 and 15.00. Attendees are asked to meet ten minutes before the tour start time outside the west door of the William Arrol Building on Fourth Gait of Heriot-Watt University's Edinburgh Campus at Riccarton. For security reasons at weekends this door will only be opened to allow attendees to enter and depart.
The campus is served by Lothian Buses services 25, 34, 35 and 45. Car parking on the day is available in Car Park K located on Fourth Gait. Disabled parking available adjacent to the William Arrol Building west door. Covered cycle parking available on Third Gait. The west door provides a level entry and a lift is available to all floors.
