This course is part of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Mind Matters Initiative and is open to all Veterinary teams.

<h2>We are launching our national MHFA accredited training and are inviting all members of the veterinary team to participate. </h2><p>The hope is that delegates will use their training from MHFA to recognise mental health issues amongst their peers and themselves. It will illustrate effective signposting to appropriate services and a greater understanding of mental wellbeing and illness while strengthening a culture of recognising the importance of mental wellbeing. </p><p>This training will give a MHFA certificate with further support and will be delivered in-person.</p>

<h3>This course will be delivered by Mental Health First Aid England</h3><h3>Learning outcomes</h3><p></p><ul><li>An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma</li><li>Knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness </li><li>Ability to spot the signs of mental ill health </li><li>Skills to support positive wellbeing </li><li>Confidence to support someone who is in distress or may be experiencing a mental health issue</li></ul><p></p><p>Training will be delivered in-person and <strong>will not</strong> be recorded</p>

<h2>Course timings</h2><p><strong>Schedule:</strong></p><p>8:30 – 9:00 Arrival tea and coffee</p><p>9:00 – 10.30 Workshop</p><p>10:30 – 11:00 Break </p><p>11:00 – 12:30 Workshop  </p><p>12:30 -1:30 Lunch </p><p>1:30 – 3:00  Workshop</p><p>3:00 -3:30 Afternoon Break </p><p>3:30 – 5:00 Workshop and close</p><p>Lunch provided - please include dietary requirements when booking</p><p></p><h2>C﻿ost</h2><p>T﻿he cost of this course at full capacity is £231 per delegate. </p><p>D﻿ue to MMI funding the course is charged at a subsidised cost of <strong>£30 to delegates</strong></p><h3></h3>

This is to allow ongoing support and guidance for mental health first aiders across the professions.</p><h3> What is the refund policy?</h3><p>Due to the administration costs, we will only be able to refund 50% of the ticket costs, if refunds are requested on or before 1 February 2023. </p><p></p>
