Screening events for Cornwall Climate Care's new film: 'Food for Thought'

Join us for a screening of Cornwall Climate Care’s latest films ‘Food for Thought’ and &#x27;Down the Drain&#x27; at <a href="https://wtwcinemas.co.uk/truro/whats-on/?fbclid=IwAR2eucw7gPcT0XwEzj0b9B_fAk2hW7jHM5NcoOX1CNbGL72yjbqR-m9lEgI" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Plaza Cinema Truro</a>, followed by a Q&amp;A with the filmmakers and guests.Event kindly supported by the <a href="https://www.cornwallwildlifetrust.org.uk/what-we-do/our-conservation-work/on-land/cornwall-catchment-partnership" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Cornwall Catchment Partnership.</a>We recognise that times are tight for many people right now so we are asking for a minimum £1 donation to cover Eventbrite fees. However, if you are able to donate £5 or more this will really help our charity to make further documentaries in the Cornwall&#x27;s Climate Stories series.

<h2>Food For Thought</h2>Should we all be giving up meat and dairy if we’re to have a hope of avoiding dangerous climate breakdown?This is what the headlines seem to tell us. But is this too simplistic a picture – and what would this mean for Cornwall, where the majority of our farmland is used to raise livestock or to grow crops for these animals to eat?Food for Thought looks at the undeniable impacts of modern animal agriculture as well as some of the incredible Cornish initiatives underway to mitigate them – and also the role that regenerative farming could play in actually combating climate change while producing nutritious food.Presented by organic beef farmer Lisa Guy, this film aims to inspire much-needed conversation and action about a crucial subject that has become one of the most contentious within the climate debate.Watch the trailer below

<h2>Down the Drain</h2>Down the Drain delves deep into issues around climate change and Cornwall’s fresh water – looking at everything from heavier rain leading to more sewage overflows, flooding and loss of topsoil, to how warmer river water is affecting fish, and the surprising carbon footprint of the water we use every day.It also focuses on how people around Cornwall are working to tackle these problems – from farmers changing the way they manage their land to a project to ‘re-wet’ Bodmin Moor’s peat bogs, and efforts to reintroduce the beaver – which was driven to extinction in the UK about 400 years ago.Presented by <a href="https://thelonekayaker.wordpress.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Lone Kayaker</a> - Rupert Kirkwood - this film takes us on a journey through Cornwall’s water cycle, and offers tips and solutions for how each of us can help to protect this vital resource that we all depend on.Watch the Trailer Below
