Sew Sustainable Fair

I﻿ run sewing workshops for complete beginners and those who would like to improve their skills. All the workshops use fabrics and materials that are sourced second hand from either industrial textile waste, people's private fabric collection, charity shops and vintage fairs. I aim to make my workshops accessible as possible, please let me know if you have accessibility requirements that I haven't considered. I have a DBS certificate and I am a qualified first aider.

Zoe will be sharing with us her key learnings from interviewing guests on her popular podcast Check Your Thread. Over the past 18 months, Zoe has interviewed a wide range of guests that explore the many and varied ways we can sew, and live, more sustainably. Zoe talks about what she has learnt, as well as her own formula for making clothes more sustainably. Stay and chat about sewing with friends. </p><h3>We look forward to meeting you at our Sew Sustainable event.</h3><h2>A﻿bout Sew Sustainable Fair</h2><p>The idea for this new sewing event came from a group of small businesses who promote sewing sustainably. The nature of making our own clothes is a protest against the fast fashion industry. Considering where we buy our fabric and sewing supplies is the next step. Buying vintage and deadstock fabric is a sustainable alternative to buying new fabrics as we are already using items that are already in circulation. Preventing them from reaching landfill.
