Public lectures at Newcastle University are free and open to all. Our aim is to offer a programme that will inform, stimulate, entertain, and excite.

Over a year after Vladimir Putin’s ‘special military operation’ – Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022 – a panel of experts will discuss the course and state of the conflict and consider the future. Particular attention will be paid to the situation in Ukraine, the intentions of the Russian government, and international responses, including that of Britain.Panellists include:<ul><li>Dr Martin Farr, Newcastle University (Chair)</li><li>Professor Stella Ghervas, Newcastle University</li><li>Dr Tetyana Lunyova, V.G. There is also a hearing loop system and an accessible toilet nearby.</li><li>Please contact us if you or a guest will be accompanied by an assistance dog.
