This 5-week online support block is for parents and carers who are awaiting an autism assessment for their child, have recently received an autism diagnosis for their child or those who just generally want to know more about autism. It is aimed at primary aged children.Autism is a complex neurological condition. This series of information sessions aims to provide an overview of what you need to know right now to make a start on your autism parenting journey.The support block will cover:

  • What is autism?
  • What are the common traits of autism?
  • Sensory differences
  • Strategies and support
  • Education and services available

These sessions will be delivered by Saira and April.This is an online support block that will be delivered over Zoom. It will run every Wednesday between 12-2, beginning on the 19th of November and for the following 4 weeks. The sessions are free. They are for parents and carers of autistic individuals (no diagnosis required) living in Bristol: you must be registered in advance .
