A day of creative writing inspired by the "Knowledge is Power" exhibition in the Weston Gallery, Lakeside Arts Centre

J﻿oin <a href="https://www.thewriterhighway.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Writer Highway</a>, <a href="https://www.fiveleavesbookshop.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Five Leaves Bookshop</a> and the University of Nottingham&#x27;s <a href="http://nottingham.ac.uk/manuscriptsandspecialcollections/index.aspx" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Manuscripts and Special Collections</a> department for a special day of creative writing inspired by the history of the University&#x27;s adult education department. The Weston Gallery at the University&#x27;s Lakeside Arts Centre is currently hosting an exhibition entitled &quot;Knowledge is Power&quot;, which includes documents, photographs and objects showing how adult education was instrumental in empowering working-class people last century.T﻿he day will be led by Cathy Grindrod (The Writer Highway), Pippa Hennessy (Five Leaves) and Rebecca Moore (Manuscripts and Special Collections). You&#x27;ll do lots of writing inspired by the current exhibition in the Weston Gallery, and also:<ul><li>take a guided tour of the exhibition</li><li>access related artefacts to inspire your writing</li><li>h﻿ear short readings from local writers Rosie Garner and Rowena Edlin-White</li><li>s﻿hare your work with the group</li><li>h﻿ave the opportunity for your writing to be published on <a href="https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/manuscriptsandspecialcollections/exhibitions/knowledgeispower.aspx" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">the exhibition&#x27;s website</a></li></ul>T﻿here are two half-price bursary places available - to apply for these please <a href="https://www.thewriterhighway.co.uk/contact" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">contact The Writer Highway</a> for further details.
