The Gallery at Green & Stone is excited to be joined by tutors from the Royal Drawing School conducting this unique drawing class.

Tutor: Paul FennerSummary: An outdoor sketching programme for students of all abilities centred upon London’s dynamic environment where the passage of time is visible in the city scape. Students will be challenged to consider the possibilities that drawing the city holds, with small quick urgent sketches. Drawing outside can be more than an end in itself. Pierre Bonnard used small outdoor drawings as the source for his colourful ambitious paintings. This course is an opportunity to explore and respond to the urban landscape of Chelsea and South Kensington in London. Students will be encouraged to experiment with different materials and speeds of drawing. Work made on site has a freshness and urgency and the limitations of time and space can provoke risk taking and innovation.Please bring your own drawing materials. Students will recieve a 10% discount in our renowned art materials shop at the end of the class!This is a fantastic opportunity to be trained by a tutor from the Royal Drawing School. The class will begin outside our gallery, showing the work of Royal Drawing School alumni, for maximum inspiration.

Born in Southampton in 1989, Paul Patrick Fenner graduated from The Drawing Year at The Prince&#x27;s Drawing School (now the Royal Drawing School) in 2012, having previously studied Fine Art at Newcastle University. Drawing on memories of people and places, and ideas from literature and other sources, Paul’s paintings result from a process of improvisation and exploration, as well as a commitment to the imaginative primacy of drawing. Paul received the Richard Ford travel award in 2012 to Madrid, and the following year traveled to India to participate in the Royal Drawing School’s International Teaching and Art Residency.
