We are hosting some very special guests in March in our brand-new webinar series for 2023.The series is titled: “Building the best foundation for growth, learning and life for the SEN child.”The sessions will examine, through our programme of expert speakers, a range of key societal, therapeutic and educational themes including inclusion, diversity and sex and relationships and the vital role understanding these and embedding them into everyday practice has in creating the in creating the best possible foundation for a child’s future.On the 15th March from 10:00am to 11:30am we are speaking to Mikenda Plant, certified DDP Practitioner, Consultant and Trainer.All professionals supporting children and families need a model that brings together knowledge about developmental trauma, attachment, interpersonal neurobiology and child development.Dyadic Developmental Practice is an all-encompassing approach that includes parenting and caring for children as well as the therapy. It helps the professionals understand, work together with and be effective in their support of children and their families.PACE: Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and EmpathyCentral within DDP is PACE, a way of thinking which deepens the emotional connections in our relationship with others.Playfulness brings enjoyment to the relationship. Acceptance creates psychological safety. When we curiously explore within a relationship, we express a desire to know the other more deeply. Empathy communicates our curiosity and acceptance, as we recognize and respond to the other’s emotional experience.The therapy helps the children learn to trust. It is family-based and involves the child with his or her caregivers.Mikenda is a DDP Trainer, Consultant &amp; Practitioner and Family and Systemic Psychotherapist.
