52 Squares: Diversity in Everyday Life is an exhibition on diversity in urban life and questions how the same moments can be interpreted in different ways by different individuals.

It is based on a Social Science meets Arts project, produced by Dr Bilge Serin and illustrator Funda Mengilli. Dr Bilge Serin is an urban studies scholar and social scientist working on everyday life, inequality and inclusion in cities, and contemporary urban experience. Funda Mengilli is a children’s book illustrator.

The exhibition shows a selection of photographs of mundane moments in everyday life, and their interpretations by the illustrator. Full project portfolio can be seen: https://www.instagram.com/52squares

The launch will introduce the exhibition, facilitated by Dr Alison McCandlish, and include a Q&A where participants will have a chance to meet the participating artists and ask their questions.
