A morning series of  art therapy and mindfulness workshops. Beginners welcome, all art materials provided. In Person in Lewes, East Sussex.

The Gather Rooms

Each session includes guided art making and mindfulness meditations, and has a specific focus (see below). You can attend each individually or attend all four as a series.Series of Art Therapy and Mindfulness Workshops 10 - 1 pm (3 hours):<ul><li>Workshop One: Opening to Joy and Expression - Saturday 29th April</li><li>Workshop Two: Inviting Compassion - Saturday 10th June</li><li>Workshop Three: Exploring Resilience and Creativity - Saturday 15th July</li><li>Workshop Four: Active Hope - Saturday 16th September</li></ul>This workshop series is available to attend either in person or online via Zoom (on different dates).-﻿-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Workshop One: Opening to Joy and Expression on 1﻿0 - 1 pm on Saturday 29th April 2023To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness. What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives― James Baraz, Author of ‘Awakening Joy’ How can we open to joy and creative expression? This is a creative and explorative workshop integrating therapeutic art making with guided mindfulness meditation, open to all levels of experience.This session will develop your understanding of mindfulness, gratitude and appreciation practices. . During the time of environmental and economic challenges (amongst other individual and collective challenges) the practices of mindfulness and opening to joy have the potential to support our own personal wellbeing, and ways in which you can meet others facing their own challenges. From the basis of our own resourcing and resilience we may find new ways to be able to meet and respond to the collective challenges we are experiencing.Aims:	Deepen your understanding of mindfulness, gratitude and appreciation practices 	Understand some of the potential barriers to these practices	Find ways to resource and nourish yourself in challenging timesAll levels of experience with mindfulness and/or art making are welcome to attend! All art materials will be provided.This workshop will be delivered face-to-face in Lewes, East Sussex.
