K﻿ing&#x27;s College London are looking forward to welcoming Professor Konrad Schmid of Zurich to London on Wednesday 15th March for the KCL/UCL Hebrew Bible Workshop followed by the Ethel M. Wood Lecture. Wood Lecture (17:00-19:30):17.00: Konrad Schmid, ‘Thinking about Thinking: Modes and Developments of Second Order Thinking in Ancient Israel’.18.30: Drinks reception.The day is open to all, and free of charge. The venue will be the Council Room of the King’s Building of King’s College London, in the Strand. Konrad Schmid is Professor of Hebrew Bible and Ancient Judaism at the University of Zurich. From 1999-2002 he was Professor of Hebrew Bible at the University of Heidelberg. He is associated with both the Institute for Advanced Study and the Center of Theological Inquiry at Princeton and has been a Fellow of the Israel Institute for Advanced Studies in Jerusalem. From 2019-2022, he served as President of the International Organization for the Study of the Old Testament. His many publications include Genesis and the Moses Story: Israel’s Dual Origins in the Hebrew Bible (2010), The Old Testament: A Literary History (2012), Is There Theology in the Hebrew Bible? (2015), and A Historical Theology of the Hebrew Bible (2019).
