More about Wildlings parent and child group.Dates: 6 week programme, from the Thursday 23rd February to Thursday 30th March 2023 inclusive, for 1.5 hours between 10am - 11.30am.Age range: Children 18 months and 5 years. Children under 18 months are free to attend with a paying sibling.The Fun To Be Had at Wildlings.... Wildlings is a forest school parent and child group that offers opportunities for your child to learn, play and explore our Wild Space environment in a relaxed, safe and holistic manner. Our forest school sessions are designed with nature connection at its core that enables our learners to nurture a life-long love and understanding of the natural world.O﻿tto the therapy dog will be supporting the sessions and is looking forward to making new little hooman friends and helping the children settle in. He says his favourite things are playing, exploring and eating snacks, preferably not his own!Our sessions will be inspired by the seasons and the children who attend, and will be different every week. Below are some examples of the activities and benefits we will offer over the term.<ul><li>Crafts activities using natural resources that inspire creativity</li><li>Tool use, such as sawing, drilling, whittling and chopping that develop fine and gross motor skills</li><li>Green woodworking</li><li>Fire lighting using a flint and steel and making the campfire</li><li>Campfire snack cooking, such as marshmallows, pastries and bread.</li><li>Learning about nature, bug hunting and the animals that live and visit our environment</li><li>Mud kitchen, swing and hammock</li><li>Interacting with new people and building new friendships</li><li>Positive and cherished life-long memories made between the child and their parent or care giver.</li></ul>Sessions are run by a level 3 forest school leader, forest school assistant. Fully DBS certificated, first aid and safeguarding trained, and Otto the therapy dog, who is has heaps of enthusiasm and love to give!Price: Block booking £48.00 for first child and £39.00 for siblings for the complete 6 week term.O﻿ne off session - £10.00 per child valid on 23rd February 2023FAQ&#x27;sWhat to bring along and wear:<ul><li>A cup for yourself and your child as we will be offering a free self service hot drinks station for adults and hot chocolate or squash/water for children.</li><li>Any snacks for your child that you would like to bring along.</li><li>Weather appropriate clothes and footwear for outdoor environments.</li></ul>Where is The Wild Space? The Wild Space is a designated forest school area within the Graylingwell Park and is managed by the Chichester Community Development Trust. The Wild Space can only be reached by foot and parking is available nearby.Parking: Visitors can park at the Pavilion or around the edge of the park (you will need the Just Park App or can purchase a ticket in the cafe). Alternatively, a really good option is to park at the Rugby Club as it’s just as close to the Wild Space. What are the facilities: There is a hexagonal wooden shelter on site and a portable camping style toilet. The Pavilion cafe is near by and is a lovely place for people to meet before or after the session. There are also plenty of open spaces and seating around the park near the forest school site for people to use after the session ends, which are perfect for picnics in the warmer months.My child has food allergies: There is a section on the order form to complete with any food allergies. If you would like to discuss any food allergies or other requirements further please do get in touch.Cancellation and refund policy: If you are unable to attend due to any reason unfortunately we will not be able to offer a refund. If in the unfortunate event we are unable to run the session we will issue everyone with a full a refund or alternative date. Part refunds cannot be given if you are unable to attend a session for any reason. Places are non-transferable. What happens if the weather is bad? We will continue the session in most weathers and have use of on site permanent forest school shelter. If we need to cancel the session due to weather warnings we will offer everyone a credit note to use at a later session.Your information and how we use it: At time of booking we require some information about you and your child, for example allergies, alternative needs or special requirements, first aid, email and emergency contact phone number. This information is only kept for the duration of the course or event and your contact number will only be used by us in the event of an emergency arising with your child or if we need to contact attendees prior to the event to give extra information. If you consent for us to use your email to contact about future events, this will only be used by Woodland Wonders (we do not pass these details onto any other 3rd party) and will be used only to send details of other events run by Woodland Wonders that we think you may be interested in. If you consent for photos to be used, these will only be used for our Facebook page, website and promotional purposes only and are not passed onto anyone else.
