We've teamed up with our friends at Faber to host a literary evening with two of their most exciting new novelists.

Join us in Newcastle city centre’s Common Room to listen to Eliza Clark and Dizz Tate in conversation, as well as a drinks reception and book-signing. Guests will also receive an exclusive New Writing North X Faber book-bag containing the new hardback of Brutes by Dizz Tate, a voucher to pre-order Penance by Eliza Clark, and more… Eliza Clark has relocated from her native Newcastle back to London, where she previously attended Chelsea College of Art. Her debut novel  Boy Parts was named Blackwell’s Fiction Book of the Year and shortlisted for the Books Are My Bag Readers Awards. Penance is an utterly chilling, compulsive story of a murder among teenagers, on the eve of the historic Brexit vote, by a major new voice in British fiction. Dizz Tate was born in 1993 in London and grew up in Orlando, Florida. Her short stories have appeared in  Granta, The Stinging Fly,  Dazed, Five Dials  and No Tokens Journal, and won multiple awards. Brutes is  a coming-of-age story about the crucible of girlhood, from a writer of rare and startling talent.‘Eliza Clark is a genius with voice and a master of flipped expectations.
