Join us for an interesting and informative cycle around the shores of the picturesque Loch of Lintrathen, a haven for wildlife

This cycling tour takes you towards the eastern boundary of the Cateran Ecomuseum and around the pretty Loch of Lintrathen, an important reservoir of water for the City of Dundee and a haven for wildlife that attracts vast numbers of wintering wildfowl. Join us for an interesting and informative cycle around its shores.Riding Time: 1 - 2 hrsCost: Free Start/Finish: Alyth Cyclery. Meet in the car park at the side of the cycle shopNearest Parking: At the startSuitable for: Road bikesTotal Distance: 26.1 kmTotal Ascent: 300 mTerrain: A mixture of quiet roads, all on tarmacAccess: Fully accessible with no gatesRoute Category: StraightforwardKey Facilities on Route: Alyth (accommodation, shops, restaurants, cafes), Peel Farm (cafe &amp; farm shop), Bridgend of Lintrathen (cafe)OS Landranger Map: 53All participants must bring a road-worthy bicycle with them and a spare inner tube of the right size for their tyres (these could be purchased at Alyth Cyclery) in case of any punctures. Participants must wear a bike helmet and bring a waterproof jacket with them and any snacks and drinks which they require. Children attending the ride must be over the age of 10, competent cyclists and accompanied by an adult.This session is part of <a href="https://cateranecomuseum.co.uk" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Cateran Ecomuseum’s </a>Travel For All Our Tomorrow’s programme which offers a number of free, active travel for leisure experiences co-designed with local communities and led by local people and which aims to encourage more people in the Tayside region to enjoy what is on their doorstep, rather than increase their carbon footprint by travelling further afield.This guided cycle ride is being delivered by the Cateran Ecomuseum with the support of Inspiring Scotland and the Scottish Government’s Rural and Island Communities Ideas into Action (RICIA) Fund and Paths for All Smarter Choices Smarter Places programme.
