The Festival of Early Stage Researchers 2023

The Festival of Early Stage Researchers (FESR) is our way to say thank you to the largest community of researchers in the UK. It is an annual week-long festival, recognising and celebrating the invaluable contribution from UCL’s early-stage community.

The Researcher Town Hall is one of the key events taking place as part of the festival and represents an opportunity to come together as a community both in person and virtually to discuss a key topic of relevance to all early stage researchers. This year the Town Hall will be focusing on the question: ‘how do we bring about culture change in research?’ The discussions will be led by our exciting panel who will be approaching the question from a variety of scales; from sector and institutional approaches, through to grass roots activities taking place across UCL. In particular we will be exploring how early stage researchers benefit from a healthy research culture and what your responsibilities are to contributing to change.Our panel of speakers are:•	Prof. Geraint Rees: UCL Vice-Provost (Research, Innovation and Global Engagement).•	Emma Todd: Director of Research Culture.•	Dr Sarah Jasim: Senior Research Fellow (NIHR ARC North Thames), UCL Department of Applied Health Research and Policy Fellow, Greater London Authority.•	Dr Jo Van Herwegen: Associate Professor and Head of Research for Psychology and Human Development, IOE, UCL Faculty of Education and Society•	Tadhg Caffrey: Faculty Impact Manager, The Bartlett, UCL Faculty of the Built Environment.The event will be chaired by Prof David Bogle: Pro-Vice-Provost (Doctoral School and Research Staff).We would like to invite you to send questions for the panel members, in advance of the event.
