The UN Climate Emergency Conference is a group role-playing event where “Global Leaders” from sectors across business, government and civil society gather to negotiate and implement climate solutions with the aim of limiting global warming to less than 2 degrees Celsius by the year 2100. This fast-paced, fun, interactive and engaging event uses the online world simulator called En-ROADS for immediate feedback on the effectivity of the proposed climate solutions, and will equip you with the understanding, the motivation and the hope that addressing Climate Change is not only possible, but it is also a common, shared goal.You'll be allocated to teams on the event, and each of the participating teams will represent one of the following stakeholder groups:  <ul><li>World Governments </li><li>Developed Nations   </li><li>Developing Nations  </li><li>Emerging Nations </li><li>Conventional Energy  </li><li>Clean Tech  </li><li>Land, agriculture, forestry  </li><li>Industry &amp; commerce  </li><li>Climate Justice Hawks  </li></ul>The specific parameters that can be changed in the En-ROADS simulator include:  <ul><li>Taxation of coal, natural gas and oil  </li><li>Electrification of transportation infrastructure   </li><li>Investment into carbon-capturing technologies  </li><li>Economic growth  </li><li>Population Increase  </li></ul>It’s going to be a fast-paced and interactive event with loads of opportunities for you to learn and network.
