Featuring a fabulous headliner, ten great open micers, and a bunch of halftime shenanigans with games, challenges and prompts set by our host Rue Collinge - the Word Tinker! We have a particular passion for new and under-represented voices, and of course a special commitment to making space for women, especially those in Teesside and the North of England.Our first headliner this year is the one and only Kathryn O’Driscoll, UK Slam Champion and World Slam Finalist 2021! Kathryn is a spoken word poet, writer and activist from Bath, England. She talks openly about disabilities, mental health, LGBTQIA+ issues and joys and gender politics in her wide range of poems.
