FROM EUROPE WITH LOVE is back on Saturday 25th of March celebrating children's stories and films by our friends and neighbours from across the Channel with a special focus on Ukraine. The programme includes a screening of short animations, creative activities and our famous European cake sale. This is a fundraising event and your donations will be used to support our Family Film Club in the year ahead. Book your tickets now before they all get snapped up!

We start the day with our ever popular selection of SHORT ANIMATIONS, travelling from France to Lithuania, Switzerland, Germany to Ireland and beyond. These films are largely without dialogue and suitable for all ages.

Cupcakes, orange polenta cake from Spain, Eastern European babkas, Ukrainian honey cake... you won't be able to resist the homebakes at our continental tea party..

In our animation station we are exploring different European languages. Here we are showing how to say 'Hello'... Can you name the countries?

As always we have a range of fun creative activities for children and parents to work on together. Each child will receive their own passport to track their journey through Europe and collect stamps when they watch a film, taste a cake or complete a craft project. This year we are making peace doves for Ukraine and decorating headbands with flowers that represent the countries of Europe. Our animation station will make a comeback and we travel through Europe by imagining our favourite food.

TRUMPETER (PG) Our main film is the heartwarming Ukrainian musical 'Trumpeter'.Young trumpeter Mykola Shevchenko plays in a pop brass band. He composes his own music which attracts the attention of world famous musician Eugene Gaisin. It is this attention that causes rivalry between two competing orchestras and, just like in the adult world, there is love, intrigue, jealousy and, of course, a happy ending!
