Gender violence is a global problem, having emigrated to a country other than the country of origin, increases the vulnerability of women.

<p>*This event will be held in English</p><p></p><p><a href="https://www.kcl.ac.uk/events/latin-american-migrant-women-in-the-united-kingdom-human-rights-and-gender" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">KCL.ac.uk//latin-american-migrant-women</a></p><p></p><h2>Latin-American Migrant Women in the UK: Gender-based Violence. </h2><p>Violence against women is a problematic that’s been present all around the world for many years affecting hundreds of lives and families in different ways. In addition, the migratory status of women affected by this type of violence increases their vulnerability to suffer gender-based violence. In this conference, we are going to talk about how this phenomenon has affected women coming form Latin-American countries located in the United Kingdom, focusing on the different options and instruments they have to face and come out of gender-based violence context.</p><p></p><h3>Daniela Romero</h3><p>Daniela Montserrat Romero Moreno is from Mexico City, she is a graduate of the Law School of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), she held the Telmex Telcel Foundation scholarship through the “Corriendo por la Educación” programme, she was also a scholarship holder of the Centennial Generation Academic Excellence (Excelencia Académica Generación del Centenario) programme awarded by the National Supreme Court of Justice, Fundación UNAM and the UNAM Faculty of Law. Additionally, she was an intern in the National Supreme Court of Justice. This conference presents the results of the research she completed at the Centre for Mexican Studies-UNAM UK, under the programme PITAAE (Programa de Impulso a la Titulación por Actividades Académicas en el Extranjero) by initative of UNAM&#x27;s Office for International Cooperation (DGECI).</p>

<p>*Este evento se impartirá en inglés</p><p></p><h2>Mujeres Migrantes Latinoamericanas en el Reino Unido: Violencia de Género.</h2><p>La violencia de género que sufren cientos de mujeres día tras día es un problema que está presente en muchas partes del mundo y que las afecta en múltiples maneras, sin embargo, la característica de haber inmigrado a un país diferente al de origen, incrementa la vulnerabilidad de las mujeres ante este tipo de violencia. En esta conferencia se hablará de como la violencia de género ha afectado a mujeres de origen latinoamericano que se encuentran específicamente en el Reino Unido, haciendo énfasis en las herramientas con las que cuentan para ayudarse a enfrentar las situaciones de violencia que están viviendo. </p><p></p><h3>Daniela Romero</h3><p>Daniela Montserrat Romero Moreno es originaria de la Ciudad de México, es egresada de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), fue becaria de excelencia de la Fundación Telmex Telcel a través del programa Corriendo por la Educación, asimismo fue becaria del programa de Excelencia Académica Generación del Centenario otorgada por la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación, Fundación UNAM y la Facultad de Derecho de la UNAM. Además, realizó su servicio social en la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación. En esta conferencia se presentan lo resultados de su investigación realizada en el Centro de Estudios Mexicanos UNAM-Reino Unido en el marco del Programa de Impulso a la Titulación por Actividades Académicas en el Extranjero (PITAAE), iniciativa de la Dirección General de Cooperación e Internacionalización (DGECI) de la UNAM.</p>
