Beat the Boredom - Wild Beach School sessions!We are very excited to be running these popular holiday sessions throughout the Easter break again this year, and as well as our paid for places we are thrilled to once again be able to offer a number of places free to children who receive free school meals, funded by WSCC HAF. All children who attend these sessions will receive snacks, a picnic style lunch and drink.<a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/302128774297" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a>What we will be doing:Engaging young minds in a fun and enriching way through a variety of different wild beach learning activities at each session. <ul><li>Scavenger hunts and identifying life on our coastline</li><li>Environmental awareness and conservation</li><li>Learning through discovery, exploration and playing</li><li>The tides and moon!</li><li>Fun and interactive games and activities</li><li>Wild science and problem solving challenges</li><li>Team games and challenges</li><li>Story telling</li><li>Mapping, tracking and trailing</li><li>Wild art and natural crafts </li><li>How to stay safe on the beach</li><li>Be involved in lunch preparation and learn about healthy food and healthy eating</li><li>Fun and engaging age appropriate activities</li><li>And anything else we can think of!!!</li></ul>Location: West Beach, Littlehampton, BN17 5LH. We will have use of the visitors centre and toilets and will be using a designated area of the beach.Price:Paid Places: £28.00 per session, includes all activities, crafts, snacks, lunch and drink. (discount offered for all 4 days booked, please see booking information below)Free Places (HAF): FREE for children in receipt of income assessed free school meals with their HAF code. We will allow children to paddle in the sea as a group activity and with adult supervision. Children will not be permitted to swim. This is also weather, conditions and season dependant. Can I book onto more than one session: Yes, you can book as many sessions as you like.What to bring and wear:<ul><li>A refillable water bottle</li><li>Appropriate outdoor clothes and footwear for the time of year and weather.</li><li>A﻿ towel.</li><li>Wet weather clothes, trousers and coat</li><li>Wellies for wet days (weather/season dependant)</li><li>Additional warm clothing (weather/season dependant)</li><li>Sun screen/sun hats (weather/season dependant)</li></ul>Meeting place and car parking: Drop off and pick up will be in the West Beach car park. The car park is a pay and display, drop off and pick up is permitted but to stay any length of time would incur the pay and display fee. Free disabled parking when displaying a valid badge.Can I stay with my child: These are drop off sessions only, but there are some lovely walks around the beach, a cafe and other areas if you would like to stay near by.Our bad weather contingency plan: We will continue the session outside in most weathers and will put up temporary shelters when needed. We have use of the visitors centre to store bags and shelter from rain showers, however in very wet/rainy/windy conditions or if weather warnings are in place we will have to cancel the session.My child has a SEND need: We would be grateful if you can let us know any information that you feel necessary. This is so that we can support your child and offer them the most positive and enjoyable experience at the sessions. If you would like to discuss any food allergies or other requirements further please do get in touch. woodlandwondersforestschool@gmail.comCancellation and refund policy: Paid for places: If in the very unlikely event we are unable to run the session due to any reason we will contact you and offer a credit note or refund. If you are unable to attend unfortunately we are unable to offer a refund or credit note and places are non-transferable.Free places: If in the unfortunate event we are unable to run the session we will let you know asap. If your child is unable to attend please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your place to another child.How is my information used? On the booking form you will need to agree for your details and all those who you have booked a free place for to be shared with WSCC Activities fund. They will only use this to record the success of the scheme and for their impact survey/funding data collection/success. Please note that WSCC will also use your data to check your eligibility to their funding criteria.GDPR policy: At time of booking we require some information about you and your child, for example allergies, alternative needs or special requirements, first aid, email and emergency contact phone number. This information is only kept for the duration of the course or event and your contact number will only be used by us in the event of an emergency arising with your child or if we need to contact attendees prior to the event to give extra information. If you consent for us to use your email to contact about future events, this will only be used by Woodland Wonders (we do not pass these details onto any other 3rd party) and will be used only to send details of other events run by Woodland Wonders that we think you may be interested in. If you consent for photos to be used, these will only be used for our Facebook page, website and promotional purposes only and are not passed onto anyone else.
