<h3>ONLINE EVENT</h3><h2>This talk will consider the lives, and fortunes (but not just in the financial sense), of three leading merchant families in King’s Lynn during the reign of King James I. Following brief introductions to the academic context for the talk and to the basic topography of the town in the period, the affairs of Matthew Clarke (and his father Richard), of Thomas Snelling and of John and William Atkin, will be considered.</h2><h2></h2><h3>Online attendees will receive the Zoom link the day before the talk.</h3><h3>This is a hybrid event, with a small in-person audience at The Archive Centre and an online audience.
