We are very excited to invite you to Diversion and prevention: how to end the cycle of crisis and crime - a Revolving Door event, led by lived experience.

Revolving Doors events are an opportunity for professionals and people with lived experience of the cycle of crisis and crime to develop and test ideas for change, led by the people who know best – our members with lived experience.

This event will centre the theme of diversion and prevention and explore solutions outside of the criminal justice system to address the root causes of low-level crime. You will hear directly from our members with lived experience, practitioners and policy-makers working on diversion in the South of England and have the chance to co-produce solutions, led by those who know best – our lived experience members.

The agenda includes:

A presentation from people with lived experience on their priorities for prevention and diversion away from the criminal justice system, followed by a Q and A
A presentation from members on women in the criminal justice system, marking International Women’s Day
A presentation and consultation from Dominic Williamson, on some of the issues, and potential solutions, for people leaving prison. Dominic works with Westminster Council on the Changing Futures programme. Dominic brings 30 years of experience in the multiple disadvantage sector, building partnerships and leading programmes that have transformed services for people experiencing homelessness, mental-ill health, problems with drugs and alcohol and contact with the criminal justice system

This event will be of interest to anyone working in the fields of criminal justice or multiple disadvantage, including central or local government, third sector support services, statutory services, and those who have lived experience of these issues.
