On Saturday April 1st, Chefs Joké Bakare (<a href="https://www.instagram.com/jokebakare" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">@JokeBakare</a>) and Guan Chua (<a href="https://www.instagram.com/guan_chua" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">@Guan_Chua</a>) will be joining forces to co-host a Pop Up Dinner at the Hackney Chinese Community Services (HCCS) centre in London Fields (28-32 Ellingfort Rd, London E8 3PA).The menu for the evening will delve into the parallels across their respective West African and Malaysian-Nyonya heritages - ranging from the use of chillies, spices and fermented ingredients to nostalgic childhood favourites such as Indomie and Milo!Doors will open for the arrival of guests at 6.30pm, dinner will kick off at 6.45pm. The menu (see below) is priced at £75 for 10 shared dishes (BYOB) and will feature a mix of West African &amp; Malaysian signatures alongside other collaborative dishes. Highlights include Goat Ayamase with Iru Green Chilli Gravy, Babi Assam (Braised Belly Pork in Tamarind, Red Chillies &amp; Lemongrass), Steamed Ablo Dumplings with Chilli Brown Crab Dip, Wok-fried Indomie, Tamarind-Soy-Caramel Prawns with Yaji spices, Milo Parfait with Baobab Meringue and more! £10 from every seat sold that evening will be donated back towards the community centre to support the good work they do which ranges from helping the vulnerable and elderly to the organisation of community events year round.We are sorry, but it will not be possible to change the menu or cater specifically for any allergies or dietary requirements. For those with serious allergies, please also note that cooking will involve the use of shrimp paste, nuts &amp; gluten.Seating will be on communal round tables of 6pax - solo diners or smaller groups attending will be required to share their food with others family-style.
