<h3>Visual aids are fast becoming a vital part of everyday learning to support and enhance our students' educational experience. <h1>How do our webinars work? </h1><p>Once you have purchased a ticket, you will be emailed a link to register for the event on ZOOM. It’s really important you register as soon as possible, as we manually check everyone in for safeguarding and security reasons.</p><p>Once registered you will be sent a link to join us on the night, almost as if the 'room to the door' is opened for you and you're checked in. </p><p>Click on the link to the ZOOM room 15 mins before the live webinar is to start, and make sure you are logged into ZOOM beforehand. </p><p>If you encounter any issues please visit <strong>www.sunshine-support.org/troubleshooting </strong></p><p>The video of the webinar will be available to watch for 30 days after the webinar takes place, so if you need to leave the webinar at any time or can't make it at that specific time you can watch again at your leisure. <h3>Shermeena graduated from De Montfort University with a BSc in Speech &amp; Language Therapy in 2004. She has since worked at various organisations in the NHS, private and charity sectors. Shermeena worked her way up to Managerial level in 2013 when she decided to take on some private work. This was due to the NHS undergoing significant speech and language therapy budget cuts and service re-design which meant longer waiting lists, a consultancy approach with less direct work with clients and their families.
</h3><h3>Shermeena’s practice grew within her first year of business and in September 2013 requiring full time attention. By 2014, Unlocking language had gained a strong reputation for delivery and to keep up with the demand, Shermeena employed her first speech and language therapist. Unlocking Language currently has  thirty- five speech &amp; language therapists supported by an administrative team with the head office in Canary Wharf, London. Shermeena’s dedication to learning, education and her profession has resulted in her practice offering speech and language therapist student placements and an internship programme for aspiring speech and language therapists.
</h3><h3>The fuel for her practice has been her genuine passion for the power of communication and the empowering of a person who has speech, language and communication needs. Her team are dedicated to providing thoughtful, personalised and evidence-based treatment, in a holistic, fun and functional environment. A key component of the practice is ongoing collaboration with families, teachers and multi-agencies. She believes in developing innovative, result-driven approaches in order to provide truly holistic and client focused therapy. Shermeena’s team have extensive knowledge and experience around bi and multilingualism and how this impacts language development both in the paediatric and adult population.

<h3>LYDIA CHONG </h3><h3></h3><h3>I specialise in working in special schools working with children and young people with social emotional mental health (SEMH) needs and/or complex needs such as Autism, ADHD and/or Down Syndrome. I work with students between the ages of 5 to 25 years but have a specific interest in working with teenagers.
</h3><h3>I am passionate about implementing trauma-informed care and using neurodiversity affirming approaches with my students. The ability to build a rapport and establish a connection with each individual student is key! I also enjoy encouraging other therapists within our company to do so in their practice. Recently, I have delivered a workshop to my colleagues so that we can reflect on the practices and interventions that we deliver and consider if they are neurodiversity affirming.
</h3><h3>I graduated from the University of Reading in July 2016 with a BSc (Hons) Speech and Language Therapy degree. I regularly access professional supervision and CPDs to develop my knowledge. This includes interoception, SEMH and SLCN, Attention Autism, SCERTS and more. I am also the treasure of the London Autism CEN, and part of my role includes working with other speech and language therapists to organise study days around the topic of Autism.
