Join English Touring Opera soloists for this lunchtime musical concert with Soprano Julia Mariko and Baritone Jerome Knox

Moorcroft House

We are delighted to be able to offer members this opportunity to join English Touring Opera soloists to attend this lunchtime musical entertainment at Moorcroft House, the home of Festival supporters Pat and Philip Holland. Moorcroft is located just across the park from the Opera House in the town centre. The programme include works by Rossini, Strauss and Novello.The cost per ticket of £45 includes lunch OR if you book for this event and the Opera Study Day together you can purchase a duo ticket for £80 for both events.Julia Mariko – SopranoJerome Knox – BaritoneRobin Wallington – PianoJerome Knox: Winner of the London Handel Singing competition 2020, British baritone Jerome Knox was born in London and is a graduate of the Alexander Gibson Opera School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He previously trained at the Royal College of Music and read Classical Studies at Edinburgh University. Jerome was a finalist in the Grange Festival International Singing Competition. Recent operatic roles include: Marcello La bohème and Prince Aphron The Golden Cockerel (ETO), Count Almaviva and Don Giovanni (Waterperry Opera Festival), Emireno Ottone (Göttingen Handel festival). Future plans for 2023 include his Wigmore Hall debut with the London Handel Players and returns to Waterperry Opera and to Scottish Opera for their Opera Highlights tour.Julia Mariko: English-Japanese Soprano Julia Mariko’s highlights for 2022: ‘The Linnet’ The Selfish Giant (Opera North), Janis Kelly Masterclass (Opera Festival Scotland), ‘Gianetta’ L’elisir d’amore, Haydn's Die Schöpfung (Scherzo Ensemble) and work with English National Opera Engage. Previous highlights: ‘Barbarina’ The Marriage of Figaro (Opera North), ‘Gretel’ Hansel and Gretel (Waterperry Opera Festival), ‘Fredrika’ A Little Night Music (Buxton Opera Festival), ‘Amore’ (cover) Orfeo ed Euridice, (Opera North), ‘Fairy Godmother’ Cinderella, (Opera North Whistle-Stop Opera), ‘Princess Hrothmund’ Beowulf (Charles Court Opera) ‘Soeur Constance’ Dialogues des Carmélites (RNCM), ‘Gianetta’ The Gondoliers (The National G&S Opera Company). This summer Julia will perform as a Debutante and the named roles of Stella and Shirley in Buxton International Festival‘s new production of The Land of Might-Have-Been. She will also understudy the title role of Vera.
