EVOC (Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations’ Council) has been supporting the people and communities of Edinburgh since 1868. Our vision is for people in Edinburgh to live in an equitable, sustainable and resilient city, supported by a thriving third sector. Our purpose is to serve the needs of people and communities across Edinburgh by supporting our members and third sector organisations to be effective and drive the change they need. We will specialise in information gathering and sharing, research, analysis, advocacy and relationship management, to deliver impact for our members, funders and the wider community in Edinburgh.

What do human rights and equalities mean for us?Delivered by <a href="https://thre.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">THRE: Third Sector Human Rights and Equalities</a>, this session aims to increase your understanding of human rights and equalities, how this relates to your work and how to articulate your work for funders.Over the course of an hour and a half, we will unpack concepts including human rights and equalities; disadvantages, and marginalisation and give you the tools to speak about your organisation&#x27;s work through a human rights and equalities framework.Join us to learn:<ul><li>About human rights and equalities - what are they, and why do they matter?</li><li>What a human rights and equalities first approach is and how it relates to your work?</li><li>How to communicate your human rights and equalities first approach to funders.</li></ul>W﻿ho can attend this training course?This training course is only for groups and organisations who have received funding from Year 2 of the Edinburgh Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund.E﻿VOC provides a year-round training programme open to all community and voluntary sector organisations - <a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/cc/evoc-training-1390909" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">find out more</a>.This event will take place on Zoom and the event link will be sent out to you a day or two before the course.If you have any queries, please get in touch: funding@evoc.org.uk
