About this event

About the workshop

In our fourth and final workshop we will firstly look at Home Energy Assessments, what they are and what they involve; what information and knowledge about our homes they provide us and how we can use them to help us plan for undertaking retrofit works.

Together we will:

  • Learn about Carbon Coop Home Energy Assessments
  • Understand what it’s involved in undertaking a Home Energy Assessment
  • Look at examples of Home Energy Assessment reports and how the householders have/are/will implement the recommendations
  • Discuss how a Home Energy Assessment and its report can help engage designers and contractors when planning your own retrofit

We will then use the latter part of the workshop to discuss together what the next steps may look like for Calderdale Retrofit as a group of interested householders who have been attending these workshops. We will run some hands-on activities to help us gather thoughts and feedback together.

About the project

This workshop series is for householders interested in learning more about the basics of retrofit, applying this to your home and sharing knowledge and learning with other local residents.

Carbon Co-op’s Retrofit Calderdale project, in collaboration with Pennine Community Power, aims to empower residents in Todmorden to explore the possibilities of retrofitting their homes, creating cosier spaces, reducing energy bills, and improving the efficiency of their homes through knowledge sharing, workshop events, and technology.

Location

We will be meeting at Todmorden College in one of their rooms. We are keen to protect everyone's health as much as we can, therefore we will be providing face masks and sanitiser, and welcome and support anyone to use these during the session. We have placed an upper limit of 35 places to ensure we have plenty of space, and everyone can take part in the activities. Booking is essential for attendance!

Please note: These workshops are aimed at householders who want to learn more about retrofit. This is not a workshop for people working in the supply chain or seeking to promote a specific product or service - we will ask salespeople to leave the session.

Organised by

Based in Greater Manchester, we are a community energy organisation working to assist our members and the wider community to make large, significant reductions in their home enegry usage. Our work encompasses activities such as whole house retrofit, smart grid technologies and householder training programmes.
