LNNM Network Meeting

The London Network for Nurses and Midwives (LNNM) was set up in 1999 by Christine Beasley (the Chief Nursing Officer at that time). It’s purpose was to bring together specialist nurses and midwives together to influence health policy pan London. When it was originally set up there were a large number of other specialist interest groups in operation. The homelessness group is the only one remaining active.The group meets bi-monthly usually in central london for a discussion on topic or case of interest and for some networking. We have expanded as a network to include allied professionals working in or with a strong interest in homeless health.This will be our fifth annual conference and hopefully our largest as numbers in attendance have increased year on year.If you would like to join the London Network of Nurses and Midwives Homelessness group we would be very happy to hear from you!Please contact the network directly using contact@homelesshealthnetwork.net

<h2>LNNM Network Meetings </h2><p>Our meetings are open to all members of the LNNM homelessness group network and provide a safe space to learn, share experiences and challenges and support each other.</p><p>At every meeting we invite a guest along to talk about a project or topic of relevance, which is often followed by questions and discussion.  Meeting topics and presenters are usually decided in response to feedback or a suggestion from members, so i﻿f you would like to present at a future meeting or know of anyone who might be suitable, please email us.</p><p>Meetings are bi-monthly and held online between <strong>4pm and 5.30pm</strong>.  Dates and topics for the rest of 2023 are:</p><h3>T﻿hursday 7th September 2023</h3><p><strong>The People&#x27;s Recovery Project (TPRP)</strong> is a charity which aims to build sustained recovery for people experiencing homelessness and addiction. </p><p>At this meeting, the co-founders, Ed Addison and Nathan Rosier will talk about how they have developed this new organisation and share their future plans to improve access to Tier 4 residential treatment.  The meeting is also a chance to hear directly from TPRP community members about their experiences of homelessness and addiction and how they found routes into sustained recovery.</p><h3>T﻿hursday 2nd November 2023</h3><p><strong>Game Therapy UK</strong>  is an exciting new charity providing innovative, evidence-based therapeutic games (“Dungeons and Dragons Therapy”) to groups at risk of social isolation.</p><p>This includes a wide range of groups such as people experiencing homelessness, people in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, people experiencing neurodivergence and military veterans exposed to psychological trauma/ PTSD. about therapeutic gaming as a novel way of engaging with people experiencing social isolation.  </p><p>At this meeting, Game Therapy UK will present the evidence-base for therapeutic gaming in general and for people experiencing homelessness in particular and describe their experiences and challenges of running the Camden project. </p><p></p><p></p>
