What does a Drum Circle look like? In a drum circle, people gather to make music using a variety of drums and percussion instruments. The music is free-form, without a clear beginning or end. It&#x27;s all equal in drum circles, and no note is wrong. It&#x27;s not about perfection but rather participation.During a typical session I begin with a warm up to get you limbered up. I then teach you some basic beat patterns and rhythm . We then play some Community drumming games that bring us together and help us connect which is very empowering. Events like this bring unity , it can be noisy but that&#x27;s usually from the laughter.We work as soloists and as a team . Some people come with expertise some with none whatsoever. We listen to each other and create space for drummers to enter the circle as and when they feel its time for them. Everyone has something special to bring to these types of events and everyone is welcome.There is no pressure in these sessions , everyone is their own champion, they are designed to encourage support cohesion and a sense of community with each other . As the rythms play out we are exposed to the wonderful vibrations of the instruments which helps release stagnat energy . There is no experience required for this session only a willingness to bring whatever you have to the circle and share it with others , have fun and feel part of a community.I may throw in the odd song for us to get involved with again no pressure, you can always tap it out if singing is not your thing.After the session we have a cuppa and cake and chat a bit more x FAQ&#x27;sExchangeThe cost for this session is £14.00 per person, plus small Eventbrite admin charge. Eventbrite policy states that their fees are non refundable I am afraid. EARLY BIRD offer is £11 per person, plus small Eventbrite admin charge. so get in now as these tickets sell quickly. However it can be transferred to another for the same event. I will do my very best to try and sell the ticket in your absence and only if I receive a payment will I be able to refund your full amount (less Eventbrite fee).Who can participate?Anyone can, within reason , ( See the contraindications below) however although this session is for 18 years and over. Responsible young adults are welcome to purchase tickets if accompanied with a participating adult. Should you have sensitivity of hearing then these sessions can be loud, it may be wise for younger persons to bring ear defenders or sound reducing ear plugs.Give me a call on 07814232647 to discuss further if you have any concerns of suitability.How many others will be in the group?The Group is limited to 20 spaces What do I need to bring ? .Drums and percussion instruments are provided ( You can see an array of these in the covering picture , these pictures are of the live events. However if you wish to bring your own instrument then please feel free to do so. Bring whatever you need to make yourself comfortable. The chairs are cushioned but you may wish to bring an extra cushion to make the seat more comfortable . Ear plugs if you are noise sensitive.Spill proof water bottle. Parking.There is ample parking in the grounds of Ty Clwyd Entry to ty ClwydThe building has a ramped entrance and the session is conducted on the ground floor level. (No stairs to climb). Coming from Abergele , once you pass the Llanfair TH sign you take the Llansannan turning on the left , then take the second left into Glan Elwy . Follow the road ( lane) until you come to the National Speed limit sign (on your left) the centre Ty Clwyd is directly opposite on the right, set back. There are brown wooden gates at the entrance. Please arrive 15 minutes before to settle in and for registration.Contraindications/ AwarenessesIf you are pregnant, suffer from sound induced epilepsy, had a recent operation, wear heart monitors, metal implants, recent stroke or have any medical complaint or any mental health diagnosis such as PTSD , that you may feel I need to consider please let me know so I can assess your needs or suitability for this session or if in any doubt then please seek advice from your GP before booking. About SpeedwellAngela runs Speedwell Sound Therapy and is a qualified Psychotherapist , Reiki Master and certified sound therapist. She has completed additional higher-level diploma with training providers British Academy of Sound Therapy, which allows her to facilitate Group Sound Therapy and Sound and Movement Therapy sessions, which merge a reflective process with sound, allowing the participant to connect with elements that cause an imbalance in their systems. Angela has been involved in music for the past 35 years, she has played percussion in bands and has also been lead singer for many years. She has run various Community choirs over the past ten years and enjoys leading and having fun with community groups. Her new found love is Drum Circles and takes her inspiration from mentor Arthur Hull.Angela has offered these drum circles to many retreat leaders providing entertainment for their guests.
