For parents/carers living in Bristol, North Somerset, South Glos and BaNES
A 6-week course and discussion group designed to help you understand and support the autistic girl in your care. No diagnosis is required to join this group. For parents and carers of girls and those who identify as girls.
Each week will begin with a presentation from facilitators on key topics. The rest of the session is an opportunity to get to know each other, ask questions and share experiences. The group will give you in depth information about the specific issues faced by autistic girls and how you can support your daughter in living a happy, confident life, including:
- Coming to terms with puberty
- Managing relationships
- Staying safe
- Help with masking
- Emotional regulation
- Hygiene and appearance
- Managing conflicts
After each session, attendees will get an email with links and resources to do with that week's topics.

The group will meet via Zoom on Wednesday mornings starting 1st October from 12pm-2pm
Week 1: Introduction -1st October
Week 2: Puberty and Hygiene -8th October
Week 3: Mental Health Issues - 15th October
Week 4: Managing Conflict - 22nd October
Week 5: Safety and Security - 5th November
Week 6: Emotional Regulation- 12th November
Facilitators
These sessions will be facilitated by Saira Stringer and April Iles and are for parents and carers. Both Saira and April are neurodivergent and are parents of neurodiverse children.
