Carbon Literacy Train the Trainer Session- for The Wild Escape Participants

The Manchester Partnership and the Cumbria Museums Consortium are delivering a programme of Museum Development for North West Museums up to March 2024.With the support of public funding from Arts Council England all Museum Development North West open workshops are free. Please help us keep them that way.If you have signed up to one of our events, but are no longer able to attend, we require you to inform us at least 48 hours before the scheduled event so that we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list.MDNW funding stipulates that priority is to be given to those working and volunteering in non-national and non-NPO accredited museums or those officially working towards accreditation. If you work in a national museum, an NPO, a non-accredited museum or outside of the museum sector, your place may be reallocated if there is a waiting list of delegates from priority museums. MDNW will inform you by email before cancelling your ticket.If you haven't received the event joining instructions two days before the event, please check your junk mail as emails about events can often go there.

A session for Carbon Literate individuals to support roll out training using Carbon Literacy Toolkit for Museums in their own organisations.

Background InformationThrough a partnership with Art Fund and funding from the Foyle Foundation, Museum Development UK are delivering online Carbon Literacy Train the Trainer Support Sessions for organisations participating in The Wild Escape. Carbon Literacy for Museums Toolkit: Train the Trainer sessionThis session is designed to support people who have already undertaken Carbon Literacy to roll out training using the Carbon Literacy for Museums Toolkit.. Who is the course aimed at? This course is for people from organisations across the UK that are participating in The Wild Escape and who are interested in delivering Carbon Literacy training for their own peers. We advise that, where possible, two people from your organisation attend the course. They should ideally already be certified as Carbon Literate. Requirements: The session will be delivered via an online platform and includes presentations, collaborative working exercises, and group discussion. A computer or tablet is recommended. What does the session involve? The session will cover aspects of the course content, materials and delivery mechanisms, as well as trainer scenarios and opportunity for questions. Materials: Delegates will have advance access to the Toolkit Slide Deck and Trainer Manual, to provide opportunity for familiarisation with the content. These materials are not to be used or shared for any other purpose. Access to the full Carbon Literacy for Museums Toolkit is enabled once a prospective trainer has confirmed their Toolkit pathway in agreement with either Museum Development or The Carbon Literacy Project. Event Schedule: 10am -12noon including a short break.Joining Instructions: You will receive joining instructions in advance of the session via email. Please Note: The information gathered through the booking form will be used by your Museum Development provider to send you joining instructions as well as a follow-up evaluation survey. It will also be shared with Art Fund for evaluation puposes and used by The Carbon Literacy Project in order for them to provide you with certification for the course.
