Join us in talking to a former offender, about his conviction for Armed Robbery, and his powerful journey to making amends.

Restorative Justice is a well established intervention, bringing together victims of crime and the offenders responsible, through indirect or direct forms of communication. As a voluntary process, Restorative Justice builds on the acceptance of guilt and wish to repair the harm caused by crime. Fundamentally, restorative communication can help victims to recover from crime by giving them a much needed voice within the Criminal Justice System, the opportunity to have their questions or concerns answered, to tell those responsible how they feel, to understand why the offence happened, reduce the fear of crime and enable both victims and offenders to move forward from this. Restorative Justice can be used with all offending categories, although variation is evident in the remit of Service Providers nationwide. Nevertheless, this remains an effective intervention in the context of all offences, including those defined as Serious Violence. Such violent criminality will often meet the requirements for management as a &#x27;Sensitive and Complex&#x27; case, requiring progression by suitably trained and experienced Restorative Justice Practitioners. Restorative Cleveland are part of the North-East charity, Safer Communities Ltd. We are delighted to invite you to join us in speaking to Rob, convicted of Armed Robbery and now a proud Ambassador of restorative practice, following his participation within several successful interventions with one of the victims of his offence.
