Doughnut economics, is a visual framework for sustainable development that was developed by Kate Raworth in 2012. Join us to hear more.

Since being published in 2017, the book<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doughnut_(economic_model)" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Doughnut Economics</a>, and its central idea of the Doughnut, has caught the imagination of people around the world. Offering an alternative economic goal 'to meet the needs of all people within the means of the living planet' it offers ways to think and design towards this goal, such as being regenerative and distributive. Today, an emerging global community of people are applying the ideas of Doughnut Economics in cities, communities, businesses, education and more, and contributing their tools and stories into growing commons of knowledge and practice that is<a href="https://doughnuteconomics.org/tools/206" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL). </a>Rob Shorter, who leads DEAL's work, will be introducing us to Doughnut Economics within the household and neighbourhood scale, as well as networks working at the city, regional and national scale and how these are interlinked.Rob has a Masters in Economics for Transition from Schumacher College, and through his work, seeks to cultivate ways in which everyone can contribute to re-imagining the Economy, collaborating with others to create playful and accessible methods that invite new audiences to engage in the ideas and possibilities of Doughnut Economics.
