The Edinburgh Architectural Association’s mission is to create an approachable nucleus of architects and student architects to meet and hold events to stimulate thought and discussion and to share common aspirations. We aim to form links with other construction and arts-related bodies and to promote our skills and expertise to the public.The EAA is a Chapter of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) and has over 1300 active members located from the Scottish Borders, through the Lothians to Fife, with an incredibly talented and diverse membership.Registered Charity SCO50008.

<h1>Spotlight On Ardoch Burn Crossing</h1>Organised by the EAA Education Working GroupJoin us on the 25th of April to hear project architect Gary Treacy (Historic Environment Scotland) talk about the design and delivery of Ardoch Burn Crossing bridge, winner of the EAA Ambassador Award 2022.When presenting the award the judges commented that:&quot;The Ardoch Burn Crossing at Doune Castle is both an innovative and elegant piece of bridge design... The unfinished sculptural balustrade will gently weather over time, allowing the bridge to root itself within its setting; a low-carbon, highly considered solution which touches gently into its historic and sensitive setting in the shadow of Doune Castle.&quot;The EAA is a charity run by volunteers. We would be grateful if you would consider making a small donation to support our work and allow us to continue our programme of accessible events for the architectural community in Edinburgh.Time and location:The event will be held at RIAS at 15 Rutland Square, Edinburgh EH1 2BE, and will run according to the following timeline:18:00 - open doors18:30 - presentation and discussion begins 19:20 - q&amp;a session20:00 finishThe RIAS bookshop will stay open during the event. RIAS membership is available through their website, and is free to all architecture students studying in Scotland.
