Walking Tour: Charing Cross to St Andrew's Plain

W﻿e organise an annual programme of events focusing on the history of Norwich, including talks, walking tours and visits. The majority of these are open to the general public as well as Members of the Norwich Society Members.

The walk begins with a tour of Blackfriars and St. Andrews Halls (subject to availability) whose historic interest is often under-regarded.

<p> We then walk around the area pointing out other sites that reflect, both directly and indirectly, many of the main themes and events of Norwich History; ranging from the early Anglo-Danish centre to the coming of the electric age; reflecting the lives of Norwich’s elite as well as the less well-off and the workhouse poor.</p><p>T﻿our Guide:  Nigel Wimhurst</p>
