The Brixton Project is hosting a Community and Heritage Roundtable exploring legacies of Colonialism in our public realm as part of the London Festival of Architecture.

As part of the London Festival of Architecture, The Brixton Project invites you to explore legacies of Colonialism in our public spaces, with panel discussions led by leaders in the discourse across the country.

The Brixton Project commissions creative and cultural programming within Lambeth, engaging across the community, key stakeholders and those excluded from the arts and culture to champion our diverse history, platform current issues, and imagine a collective future. 

The Brixton Project has been commissioned by Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Foundation to deliver community wide engagement around the re-interpretation of the statues of Thomas Guy and Robert Clayton. 

The engagement journey presents the opportunity for communities in Lambeth and Southwark, hospital users and staff to influence the reinterpretation work around the statues of Guy and Clayton whilst positioning the Foundation’s wider art collection as a transformative community resource fostering open and expansive dialogue around the continued legacy of the transatlantic slave trade in our public realm and systems of health inequality disproportionately impacting Black communities across the UK.
