Cyclone  Co-ordination meeting

We exist to help coordinate, represent and support the many people-to-people and community-to-community links between Scotland and Malawi. We are an independent, politically-neutral charity core funded by successive Scottish Governments.Scotland's links with Malawi date back to 1859 and the travels of Scottish explorer Dr David Livingstone.Today, more than 94,000 Scots and 198,000 Malawians are actively involved in community-led partnerships between our two nations.44.5% of Scots -almost half the country- can name a friend or family member with a connection to Malawi, making this one of the world's strongest north-south people-to-people links.

Hosted collaboratively by the Malawi Scotland Partnership, the Association of Malawians in Scotland  and the Scotland Malawi Partnership

With over a million people in Malawi impacted by Tropical Cyclone Freddy, this meeting will seek to hear from Malawi about its priorities and needs in the aftermath. Hosted collaboratively by the Malawi Scotland Partnership (MaSP), the Association of Malawians in Scotland (AMS) and the Scotland Malawi Partnership (SMP), there will be updates from the Government of Malawi, key agencies involved in relief efforts, members of the Malawian diaspora in Scotland and members of these organisations. All are warmly invited to participate in this event. Everyone is welcome to propose questions at the point of registration and during the meeting.
