Founded in 2013, Turf Projects is the first entirely artist-run contemporary art space in Croydon, South London.Established by creatives with a personal connection to the borough, Turf now comprises; a gallery space exhibiting work from emerging and established artists; an artists workspace and events space; and a small studio provision for artists and makers.We endeavor to create free, high quality exhibitions and events for Croydon both at our workshop & gallery space in the Whitgift Centre and out in the Croydon community.

Learn to make small hand-stitched soft sculptures with Milktooth!

We will provide all materials, and you can choose from Milktooth&#x27;s designs what you would like to learn to make. You don&#x27;t need to have any sewing skills and can opt for gluing instead of stitching. If you have some sewing skills already you can choose from some more challenging designs.We&#x27;re encouraging intergenerational collaboration within all of our workshops as part of current project Squidgy World. All ages are welcome and we&#x27;d especially love for you to spread the word to people aged 65+! You only need to book for one if you would like to bring more than one caregiver.A﻿BOUT MILKTOOTH<a href="https://www.instagram.com/milktoothart/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Yolanda Shields aka Milktooth</a>’s artistic practice is autobiographical and inspired by their experiences of Complex-PSTD. Using watercolour, collage and soft sculptures they explore a self fractured through trauma, and the possibilities of reconstituting an identity by embracing fragmentation.  They are currently involved in making a body of work titled Altars to my Alters.A﻿BOUT TURF:Founded in 2013 by Croydon locals, <a href="https://turf-projects.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Turf is Croydon’s homegrown artist space</a> and the first entirely artist-run contemporary art space in the borough. Based in Croydon’s Whitgift Shopping Centre, we put on free exhibitions 7 workshops, provide affordable artist studios, run a free creative project space for locals &amp; host a number of other local creative organisations and collectives. A registered charity, Turf aims to provide paid opportunities for artists and creatives who might otherwise be undersupported.
