This special event will be held in remembrance of the life and work of the pioneering sociologist Ken Plummer.

This special event will be held in remembrance of the life and work of the pioneering sociologist Ken Plummer. Leading scholars will give presentations about Ken’s work and its enduring influence. There will be a presentation of the British Sociological Association’s Distinguished Service to Sociology Award, which recognizes outstanding contribution to British Sociology over a long career and was given to Ken posthumously. There will also be as the launch of a special issue on Ken’s work by the journal Sexualities: Studies in Culture and Society, which he founded.
