Climate Psychology Alliance: facing difficult truths about climate change and ecological crisis. A group for anyone interested in making connections between depth psychology and climate change. People engaged in therapeutically informed work form the bulk of our membership, but we welcome anyone who finds this perspective useful.

An introductory online experiential workshop for those who wish to facilitate a 'Living with the Climate Crisis' group

<h2>Sat 24th June 09.30am - 3pm online</h2><p>An introductory online experiential workshop for those who wish to facilitate a &#x27;Living with the Climate Crisis&#x27; group.</p><h2>What is &#x27;Living with the Climate Crisis&#x27;?</h2><p>Living with the climate crisis uses psychologically based groups to help people respond creatively and collectively to our global dilemmas and find their way towards action that is personally sustainable. </p><p>The groups are a mix of psychologically based groupwork and experiential learning which can be used flexibly to support people in managing their feelings, experiences and actions about the climate and ecological crises.</p><p>They are designed to be run face-to-face in the local communities where people live and work, feeding into and helping to develop collective responses and collective action. The groups aim to help people:</p><ul><li>find support for the complexity and pain of their feelings;</li><li>communicate with empathy and skill about the crisis;</li><li>find a place in collective action that is personally sustainable;</li><li>share ways to still find meaning, joy and satisfaction in the precarious world we all now find ourselves in.</li></ul><p>The approach is rooted in psycho-social theory, climate psychology and systemic practice. You can read more about Living with the Climate Crisis <a href="https://livingwiththeclimatecrisis.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">on the website.</a></p><h2>Who is this workshop for?</h2><p>This workshop is an introduction to &#x27;Living with the Climate Crisis&#x27; <strong>for experienced facilitators from a variety of backgrounds and trainings</strong> who wish to facilitate this group in their local area. There is more detail on this in the <a href="https://livingwiththeclimatecrisis.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/LWTCC-Facilitators-Guide-final.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Facilitator’s Guide. </a></p><p>It will be run by two of <a href="https://livingwiththeclimatecrisis.org/the-authors/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">the authors</a>, Rebecca Nestor and Daniela Fernandez-Catherall and will accommodate up to 12 participants.</p><h2>How much does it cost to attend this workshop?</h2><p>Places on this workshop are offered on a &#x27;pay what you can&#x27; basis to help, if you are able, with CPA&#x27;s costs in supporting and managing the project. The authors are not being paid. Tickets also free of charge for those that need it.</p><h2>How do I book?</h2><p>Register via this Eventbrite page and you will be asked to provide some brief information. You will receive an email to confirm your booking and then, nearer to the date, you will receive the Zoom link and other details you&#x27;ll need for the workshop.
