Try something new this summer!  Our summer programmes are for young people aged 11-19 to get creative in a relaxed and friendly environment.

The Word

30 August-1 September, 10am-3pm every day The Word, South ShieldsNew Writing North&#x27;s free summer programmes are for young people aged 11-19 to try fun writing projects, meet like-minded people and make something new in a relaxed, friendly and inclusive environment.What would you put in your dream library? Over three days join us on this flight of fantasy as you work with professional artists and writers, and other likeminded young people, to try a range of creative writing projects themed around the dream library. Every book-lover&#x27;s idea of heaven!Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary. Come along and get creative!

DonationsTickets are free, but if you’re able to, please consider making a donation. Your money will support our free creative writing programmes for 12-25 year olds, which run throughout the year, including in many areas where there are fewer opportunities.The aim of all our work is to help young people to realise their potential. We develop skills, nurture talent and encourage young people to get involved and have a go at creative writing. We create environments where young writers can make friends, develop their confidence, try out new things and have fun!Our suggested donation is £25, but anything you can give will enable us to help young people to make brilliant work. Thank you!
