Manchester UNESCO City of Literature’s  Festival of Libraries, the county-wide celebration of Greater Manchester’s 133 libraries, returns with a full live programme of events 10-14th June 2026.

Mancunians fills in a gap in the history of Manchester little covered in mainstream publishing: Manchester on the brink of the millennium, and is an account of Manchester told through a mixture of memoir and interviews with well-known Mancunians such as Guy Garvey, Tunde Babayola, Sylvia Tella, Badly Drawn Boy and Stan Chow, combined with the unheard voices of the population.About David: David Scott is a father, author, poet, musician, and BBC presenter. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, and Politiken. He was born, raised, and lives in Manchester.This event is in partnership with Manchester University Press, and they will be selling copies of the book on the night.P﻿lease note that due to refurbishment works this event will take place in the Bolton Library Museum Theatre, please do not follow Google or a Sat Nav to this address.
