Nigel Linacre started writing the Grief Opera when his son, George, died by his own hand. Jazz musician Vladimir Miller used George's rhythms as a foundation for the music he composed. The Grief Opera is somewhere between a small-scale opera, a standing concert and a musical.Featuring composer Vladimir Miller on piano and librettist Nigel Linacre as himself, with Soprano Rebecca Snell, tenor Gavin McCrae, David Shepard on Clarinet, Nigel Shires on bass, Susan Norton on Cello, Wendy Clark on Violin, and a special guest to be confirmed. There will be a retiring collection for the Samaritans after musician's costs.
