Musical Event No. 7 – Studio Session No 2 – 24 & 25  June

The Audio Consultants will be hosting their Musical Event No. 7, a second collaboration with Crescent Records, Swindon, Wiltshire.

Crescent Records Studio

After the success of our previous recording session at Crescent Records we will be repeating the format. Visitors will be able to see and hear a recording take place in the beautiful large space and then witness how recording engineer Damon Sawyer mixes and masters that recording in his suite. A rapid balance and mix will be burned to a CDR, which is then be played back in the same studio using an audio system set up by The Audio Consultants.The same jazz trio led by pianist Pete Billington will be playing with the addition of their vocalist Fleur Stevenson. We will be hosting two sessions, one on each of the two days. The number of visitors will be increased to 20 per session which is the limit of space restrictions in the mixing studio. Light refreshments will be provided during each session.

Each day’s session will cost £50 per person and will include:<ul><li>Professional recording of a live ensemble, including set up of equipment and mics</li><li>Demonstration of mixing and mastering the recorded tracks to CD</li><li>Listening to playback of the recording and other music on a bespoke 2-channel HiFi system (spec to follow?) in the recording space</li><li>Q&A sessions with the recording engineer</li><li>Light refreshments and beverages</li><li>After the Event each participant will receive their own CD-R of the final recorded and mixed tracks.</li></ul>

Crescent Records have already adopted some GutWire Cables power cords and Ground Cables which are in permanent use in their recording and mixing studio. Selected use of HRS Nimbus Assemblies has significantly reduced noise within their recording and mixing electronics. Damon Sawyer has found that all these components have made a significant improvement to sound of his recordings and influences the way he mixes them prior to mastering.
