Nimrod Engine Run - OCTOBER 2023

On the first Saturday of every month (except Dec and Jan) we get together to do any required servicing. Come and join us for a tour and photo opportunity.On the third Saturday of each month we run the engines on XV232. Come and join us to experience the noise and power of 4 Rolls-Royce Spey 250 engines being put through their paces.

<h3>P﻿lease note that XV232 is within a secure and operational part of the airfield. &#x27;Admission &amp; Guided Tour&#x27; tickets gain access to the secure area only. </h3><h3>To be onboard during an Engine run, please purchase a Tactical Area Seat, Cockpit Jump Seat or a Co-Pilot Seat ticket.</h3><h2>Programme</h2>10.30 - Gates open. Please either assemble at the nearby <a href="https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=the%20light%20apron" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Light Apron Cafe</a> or report to a member of the crew near the steps leading onto XV232 so you can be booked in for the event. A member of the team will pop over to the cafe at 11:00 and 12:00 to pick up guests for tours etc.11.00 - Guided tours aboard the aircraft. Our last tour starts at 12:00 and finishes at 12:30 to allow time for passenger and crew briefings.12.00 - Gates close12.30 - Safety briefing for all visitors12.40 - Onboard Passengers board13.00 - Engine runs (We run one after the other and just swap the guests on the flight deck around. All onboard guests will be onboard for both runs)13.45 - Late arrival, or unfinished guided tours aboard the aircraftA range of Nimrod merchandise is available on board the aircraft.The &#x27;Light Apron&#x27; diner will be open for hot and cold drinks and snacks.The event is subject to weather, aircraft serviceability and crew availability.With the potential closure of Coventry Airport, we are now offering 2 Engine runs during each event to help raise funds towards a proposed move. With the recent annoucements regarding Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre (CAHC) we do not currently have a alternative home lined up for XV232. .If you are interested in being on board during an Engine Run, please take this the opportunity this year, whilst we are still operating.
